Moeka Hoshi, the breakout star of FX’s Shōgun and an emerging fashion icon, just had a major milestone moment—her first-ever Paris Fashion Week. Despite being a rising red carpet favorite, Hoshi had never experienced the glamour of the City of Light’s biggest style event. That changed yesterday when she made a dazzling debut at the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton Fall 2025 show, helmed by creative genius Nicolas Ghesquière.
For Hoshi, the moment was nothing short of magical. “It was my first fashion show, and I was completely mesmerized by the atmosphere and production inside the venue,” she shares. “This is also my first time in Paris, and I’ve already fallen in love with this beautiful city. Everywhere I go, I can feel its rich history and culture.” What better way to embrace the Parisian experience than by witnessing one of the week’s most anticipated runway spectacles?
Seated front row, Hoshi took in Ghesquière’s masterful collection, which effortlessly blended structure with softness. Among the many eye-catching ensembles, one look, in particular, stood out to her. “I loved the black dress with a red floral pattern, paired with pink boots—it had a dreamy, almost ethereal quality to it,” she recalls. “The pink boots, especially, caught my eye. There were also several outfits styled with ties, which left a strong impression on me.”

While she admired the runway’s dressier pieces, Hoshi herself opted for a sportier front-row ensemble—a refreshing departure from the elegant gowns she’s donned at award shows like the Critics’ Choice and SAG Awards. Rather than a classic Vuitton leather jacket or an opulent dress, she went for a sleek, elevated casual look. “My outfit had a sporty feel to it, which was totally different from my usual red carpet looks,” she says. Her zip-up jacket and tweed-style trousers exuded effortless cool, especially when paired with padded heels and a monogrammed bag. “After actually wearing the pieces, I realized how refined the details are. It’s not just casual; there are so many intricacies in the design. I hope my look expressed that multifaceted charm.”
It seems Hoshi is embracing a new era of personal style—one that’s all about experimentation and self-expression. “I love all kinds of fashion styles,” she says. “Since cutting my hair short, it’s been easier to balance different styles, which has made fashion even more fun for me.” If her recent looks are any indication, she’s fearlessly stepping into new sartorial territory, blending edginess with elegance in a way that feels entirely her own.
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a bit of sightseeing. After the show, Hoshi made time to explore the city’s iconic landmarks. “I went to see the Eiffel Tower and did some shopping, making sure to visit brands that don’t have stores in Japan,” she says. But her most unforgettable moment? A visit to the Musée de l’Orangerie, home to Claude Monet’s legendary Water Lilies series. “I felt as if I was able to connect with Monet’s work on a more spiritual level,” she reflects.
Despite the whirlwind trip, Hoshi isn’t slowing down anytime soon. It’s straight back to work as she gears up for the second season of Shōgun and an exciting new film role. “I’m currently in the preparation period for a Japanese movie,” she reveals. “Before filming starts, I’ll be memorizing lines, watching movies that might be useful as references, and really getting into my character’s mindset.”
From making her Paris Fashion Week debut to diving into her next big acting project, Moeka Hoshi is proving that she’s a star on the rise—not just on-screen but in the fashion world as well. And if her first PFW experience is any indication, we can expect to see much more of her at future shows, effortlessly blending her cinematic charisma with impeccable style.
